Community Involvement and Engagement

The Care Work Partnership is committed to working collaboratively with people with lived experience of drawing on and working in adult social care, to ensure our research is relevant, practical and inclusive.

The Care Work partnership runs two Community Engagement & Involvement (CIE) working groups:

  • Lived experience of drawing on adult social care services (up to 10 people)

  • Staff experience of working in adult social care (up to 10 people)

These working groups will:

  • Consult on and co-design research studies in Phases 1 and 2, including identifying training requirements and access needs of co-researchers.

  • Agree a strategy for including a diverse participant sample (staff experience and lived experience) for projects developed.

  • Support projects in years 3-5. Involvement will vary by study and group member, including advisory roles, as co-researchers, contributing to data collection, analysis and dissemination.

We will also form an online Community of Practice, open to people working in social care, people with lived experience (service users, family carers) and researchers.

We will come together through monthly webinars to share evidence, innovation and practice developments. We will discuss topics relating to adult social care workforce issues to create better understanding and opportunities to test ideas.
